Halliburton is an oil and gas industry services and equipment provider. An August, 2008 report noted that it had bought the microseismic fracture and tiltmeter mapping service provider Pinnacle Technologies.

One of Halliburton's services is to provide project management for shale wells. This includes logistics, drilling, fracing, and well completion.

It is one of the top three manufacturers of fracking fluids. Its two competitors are BJ Services and Schlumberger.

There is a Halliburton shop near the Woodland exit off I-80 in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. There are many company drilling the Marcellus shale in that area of central PA.
