Dominion Transmission Inc. is one of the largest energy transporters and producers in the US with thousands of miles of transmission, gathering and storage pipelines. It also operates the largest gas storage facility in the US, and retails energy in twelve states.

It has proposed the Keystone Pipeline to transport Pennsylvania and West Virginia natural gas to the Northeast.

Dominion was reported in September, 2008 as owning a two thirds working interest in approximately 600,000 to 800,000 acres of Marcellus shale. The remaining third had been assigned to Antero Resources.

A further report in late September clarified that the actual acerage Antero would own a working interest in was only 114,259. This deal closed September 30 with Dominion retaining a 7.5% royalty on the production of any wells drilled by Antero.
