Warren, Pennsylvania-based D & I Silica is a provider of frac sand to the natural gas drilling industry. There was a press release in December, 2009 to the effect that D & I had received a $700,000 grant from the State of Pennsylvania. The funds were for making improvements in Cameron, Luzerne, McKean and Tioga counties in order to supply sand to the said drilling industry for Marcellus shale wells.
