Houston, Texas-based Velocity Energy Inc. (OTCBB: VCYE) was reported to have purchased 13,500 acres of underdeveloped oil and gas leases in West Virginia. These wells are from several producing zones including the Huron shale. Most of the company's activities appear to be in the upper Devonian horizons. However, the company plans to position itself for Marcellus shale drilling in the future.
