The Appalachian Shale Water Conservation and Management Committee (ASWCMC) is a consortium of energy companies actively drilling in the Appalachian Basin.
The members are Anadarko Petroleum, Cabot Oil & Gas, Chesapeake Energy, Chief Oil & Gas, EOG Resources, Equitable Resources, J-W Operating, Marathon Oil Corporation and Range Resources.
The purpose of the Consortium is to develop a set of best practices for handling water resources utilized in drilling, completion, and production operations associated with development of Marcellus shale. The group is working with the Gas Technology Institute (GTI).
