Houston, Texas-based Valerus Compression Service, LP is a provider of natural gas processing, treatment and compression equipment as well as field services.

Valerus was in the news in December, 2010 when it planned to open a 16.5 thousand square foot facility to serve the Marcellus shale industry in the Fayette Business Park near Smithfied, Fayette County, southeast of Pittsburgh, PA. The plant was to employ 30 to 40 in sales, services, etc. It was scheduled to open in September, 2011.
