Pasadena, California-based Tetra Tech Inc is a provider of environmental engineering consulting services. In May, 2009 the company completed a study for the oil and gas industry in which it reported that the major source of total dissolved solids (TDS) in the Monongahela River in October, 2008 was acid mine drainage, and only 7% of the TDS could be accounted for by drilling wastewater.
