Forest

Forest County, Pennsylvania is located in the northwest region of the state.

According to a September, 2009 report, there were four Marcellus shale wells in the county. Three had been drilled by Pennsylvania General Energy Corp. The locations were as follows:

Two were in Green Township. The first one had been started July 27, 2009 and the second one on August 6.
A third one had been started on July 2 in southwest Howe Township. Pennsylvania General also had a permit for a second well in Howe Township.
A forth well had been started Aug. 5 just northwest of Hemlock Creek in Tionesta Township by Seneca Resources.
