Huntington, West Virginia-based Energy Services of America (AMEX: ESA) (aka Energy Services Acquisition Corporation) was formed in 2006 for the purpose of merging S. T. Pipelines and C. J. Hughes. The merger closed in 2008. It is an energy infrastructure and pipeline construction company active in Kentucky and West Virginia.

Energy Services of America is considered to be a Special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), that is, a form of pooled investment vehicle often used for leveraged buyouts.

Energy Services acquired GasSearch Drilling Services Corporation in January, 2008 for $23.5 million is stock and cash.

Through its S T Pipeline acquisition, ESA built the Big Sandy Pipeline in Kentucky for EQT Corporation. The 70 mile line was officially opened in April, 2009.
