The Energy Institute at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford was announced in March, 2009. It had received initial funding of $238,000 from the U.S. Government. It was to focus on workforce development issues to assist in the developing the Marcellus shale gas exploration and production industry.
Dr. Joseph Perez will head up the Institute.
