Union Drilling Inc. (NASDAQ: UDRL) is a Ft. Worth, Texas-based provider of contract drilling service and equipment to natural gas producers in the Appalachian Basin.

It owns a fleet of around 71 drilling rigs, and specializes in the kind of drilling required for unconventional gas plays such as the Marcellus shale. Many of the company's rigs are optimized for horizontal drilling. 32 to 33 of its rigs are located in the Appalachian Basin.
