Here is where some info about the Marcellus Shale Committee
should go. This article is still a stub and needs
your attention. It does not have a template and contains minimal
information. Please dive in and help it grow!

The Marcellus Shale Committee (MSC) is made up of almost thirty natural gas exploration companies with an interest in Marcellus shale development in Pennsylvania. It is jointly sponsored by the Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Association and the Independent Oil and Gas Association of Pennsylvania.

The committee has an extensive website devoted to addressing concerns of government officials, regulators and the citizens of Pennsylvania about natural gas exploration and extraction.

Its purview is to address concerns regarding acquisition, development, drilling, and exploration of the Marcellus Shale natural gas formation, and speak with a unified voice for the natural gas exploration and production industry to governmental organizations at state and local levels.

According to a late November, 2009 press release the Committee was in the process of changing its name to the Marcellus Shale Coalition to reflect the organization's broader membership. The group was to be established as a non-profit.
