The Independent Oil and Gas Association of New York is a trade organization representing oil and gas companies in New York State.
It is pursuing an educational role in order to help the public better understand natural gas drilling and exploration. This mission was undertaken to help combat the general public's lack of information about gas exploration as well as to correct some misinformation that has been publicized in the popular media.
