Empire Energy USA LLC is a subsidiary of Sydney, Australian-based Imperial Corporation Limited (ASX: IMP), a resource investment company. It is building and oil and gas exploration and development presence in the Marcellus shale formation in Pennsylvania.

In May, 2009 the company announced its intention to acquire a Pennsylvania exploration and production company and thereby add 11,200 gross acres to its existing 4,790 gross acre U.S. leasehold. Imperial's web site indicated that the company already owned drilling rights in the Pennsylvania counties of Armstrong, Clarion, and Jefferson. The company owns roughly 170 upper Devonian wells.
