AOP Clearwater is building a water treatment plant that will be used to recycle wastewater from Marcellus shale drilling in the Fairmont, West Virginia area. Gas drilling water will be reused as frac water. The plant will use distillation crystallization to to reclaim 80% of the drilling water, with the remaining percentage lost through evaporation.
