Knox Dolomite
From Wikimarcellus
The Knox Dolomite is actually a supergroup consisting of a productive series of sandstone, dolomite and shale formations found in eastern Ohio found at depths ranging between 7,200 and 8,600 feet. The Trenton-Black River formation is immediately above it and Utica shale above that.
Production mainly occurs in the porous sandstone and dolomite reservoirs known as the Copper Ridge dolomite, Rose Run sandstone and Beekmantown dolomite found at depths between 7,200 and 7,500 feet. Its lower memeber is usually referred to as the Conasauga Shale and descends from 7,500 to 8,600 feet deep.
