K&L Gates is a New York law firm which has a worldwide practice with over 1700 attorneys. The firm has extensive contacts and clients in the Texas oil and gas industry. It has been building a practice among companies that are involved in exploring Marcellus shale.

According to a November, 2010 news article, K & L Gates has represented several key participants in the Marcellus shale industry including the Marcellus Shale Coalition, Cabot Oil and Gas and Southwestern Energy. K & L Gates had 30 attorneys involved in shale work.

  • Walter Blunt, Jr. is a litigation attorney who has led the firm in its Marcellus practice.
