New Stanton, Pennsylvania-based Reserved Environmental Services planned to open a water treatment facility for waste water used in Marcellus shale drilling in the former American Video Glass Co. manufacturing plant in New Stanton. It was to open December 1, 2009 for business on a 24-hour per day basis .
The plant was to have the capacity of handling 2 to 4 million gallons of water per day, and the treated water is mainly for reuse in hydro-fracturing natural gas wells. The plant was repurposed at the cost of $1.2 million.
