Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Duncan Land & Energy are land agents who represent gas companies in negotiations with landholders for leasing drilling rights. The company strives for reaching win-win agreements between its gas company clients and landowners so both parties gain from their relationship.
In July, 2009 Duncan was mentioned in conjunction with lawsuits filed against Rex Energy by several Marcellus shale landowners in Westmoreland County, PA over alleged irregularities in payment arrangements made by the company on natural gas leases. Duncan had served as agent for Rex in facilitating several of the leases. Duncan was never cited as defendant in the litigation, since its role was merely that of third party to the leases.
