Here is where some info about Welltec
should go. This article is still a stub and needs your
attention. It does not have a template and contains minimal
information. Please dive in and help it grow!

Ft. Worth, Texas-based Welltec, Inc. is a provider of remotely controlled robotic deices used in horizontal wells. A current is passed downhole through a cable, that is, via wireline, to control the remote unit. These robotic devices, such as the company's Well Tractor, are used to perform various tasks in horizontal drilling ranging from logging and perforation to opening and closing valves and removing impediments in the well bore.

Welltec was in the news at the end of July, 2009 when a company press release mentioned the company's plans to open an operating facility and add staff in the Marcellus shale region.

  • Gregg Lindstrom is Welltec's Vice President of North and Central America.
  • Bob Joyce is the company's U.S. Sales Manager.
