Fort Worth, Texas-based New York Shale Gas LLC (NYSG), as the name implies, has focused on building its leasehold for shale gas drilling in New York State. The company's primary emphasis is on leasing prospective land for Utica shale in Onondaga County. This area is located just west of the City of Syracuse in central New York.
An August, 2008 report found NYSG leasing drilling rights in Elbridge, New York. The Village of Elbridge is located roughly 25 miles west of Syracuse in western Onondaga County.
