Drilling Appalachian Corporation (DAC) is headquartered on the Mason family farm in Alma, a rural area of Tyler County, West Virginia, a few miles west of the unincorporated area of Akron, WV. The company holds lease interests in approximately 30,000 acres in Doddrige and Wetzel counties\. As of 2006, the company was known to operate over 160 wells and associated gathering lines. It has drilled over 350 wells in the north central West Virginia counties of Tyler, Doddridge, Ritchie, Gilmer and Marion. It currently drills 25 to 35 wells per year.
In February, 2011 DAC was reported to be drilling partners with Grenadier Energy Partners, LLC in Tyler County.
