Wireline services, as used in the oil and gas industry, generally involve providing various forms of down-hole activities such as maintenance or monitoring by virtue of one or more wires bein sent down an oil or gas well. It has the advantage of allowing for the placement of equipment, setting of valves, or well clean out without ever having to shut down a well. Since it is quite costly to shut down and restart a well, wireline provides an inexpensive means for handling both routine and occasional emergency down-hole procedures while the well remains under pressure.
