Carencro, Louisiana-based OMNI Energy Services Corp (NASDAQ: OMNI) is the largest domestic provider of seismic drilling support services in the U.S. This includes seismic drilling, surveying and permitting services.
A press release appeared in October, 2009 mentioning that OMNI had been awarded a $4 million contract by a major seismic data acquisition company to perform seismic drilling services. Details about the project were minimal in the release except to say that the project was to take place in 200 square miles of diverse terrain in the geographical region of the Marcellus shale and work was to begin during the first quarter of 2010.
