The Wexford, Pennsylvania-based Pennsylvania Independent Oil and Gas Association (PIOGA) was formed in 2010 through a merger of the Pennsylvania Oil & Gas Association and the Independent Oil and Gas Association of Pennsylvania. As of November, 2010 the group had approximately 850 members who represent oil and natural gas producers, companies involved in drilling contracting and services, professional firms, and royalty owners. Almost 200 were drilling firms.
