Bellevue, Washington-based Westmont Resources Inc. (OTCBB: WMNS) is an oil and gas exploration and production company that is focusing on the Appalachian Basin. Its holdings in the Basin are concentrated in the northern tier of Tennessee where it has acquired 92 wells from Domestic Energy Corporation.

According to a July, 2010 report Westmont's Marcellus shale acreage consisted of 1,800 leased acres in Western Pennsylvania and 1,650 acres in West Virginia. The company had been developing its Marcellus leasehold with a joint venture partner.

Westmont was in the news in October, 2010 when it acquired an additional 1,600 acres in Wetzel County, WV and 60 wells. The company believed 30 new wells could be drilled on the property.
