Oklahoma City, OK-based Gulfport Energy Corporation (NASDAQ: GPOR) is an oil and gas exploration company with a Utica shale leasehold, located in eastern Ohio, and amounting to 27,000 gross or 13,750 net acres. This was based upon a pending acquisition expected to close in May, 2011. Gulfport's 50-50 partner in the transaction was Windsor, a company controlled by Wexford Capital. Gulfport's share of the acquisition cost was $31,625,000, and it was to be operator of the acreage.
